sarah contacted me last month looking for the perfect logo for her business "little boots photography."
she envisioned "a child in boots (red) and raincoat (yellow), holding an umbrella (aqua green ) and in a puddle.
this is the final result.
can't wait to see it up on her site!

the girl's birthday invitation :)
i did it, and it isn't last minute. it will arrive by wednesday (whcc has a plant in ca so i always get them in a day or two). i made it a two sided 5x7, with a picture of every birthday on the back. i ordered them on the pearl paper, can't wait to get them!
the "girl" is turning nine. . . .
my little miss. my baby. my last child. my only girl. my autumn . . . will be NINE next month. how quickly time flies.
she is the reason that i believe in the saying "God's greatest gifts are unanswered prayers." for if my (unspoken) prayers had been answered, we would have had a third boy. oh how we THOUGHT we wanted a boy... how wrong we were. she is a little bit of her dad, a little of me, some part her older brother and some parts her (younger) older brother and a whole lot of HER. she is strong, she is stubborn. she can be the girliest of girls, but is also a tough athlete and the only girl in a full baseball league of boys.
she is smart (perfect score on the STAR state standard testing, only in her school), but yet has a hard time figuring out how to keep her darn room clean:)
she is the sun that lights our days and her daddy's heart walking outside his body.
she is the greatest thing we never knew we wanted.

our little styx
our styx was bitten by a rattle snake just 6 days ago, but thanks to some wonderful care, is back to normal and healthy. although we have lived here for 8 years and have seen many snakes, this was our first (and hopefully last) snake bite. what i have learned from this is:
1. many places offer snake avoidance lessons for dogs, they teach dogs to stay away from snakes.
2. know BEFORE you need it, where your local vet hospital is that has antivenin in stock, many clinics, due to the cost, do not stock this
3. if your dog is bitten, time is of the essence, take him right away
4. avoid as much activity from your dog, if you can carry him to the car, activity will help speed up the venom moving through him...
we love this guy and although we are now broke (another thing i learned is antivenim costs BANK), we are so glad to still have him!!

i can sit here forever drawing swirls, moving them, flipping them, erasing them, re-swirling then, shortening them, changing the width, the height, the thickness... eventually i just have to stop or i can do it all day :) here is where i finished today.
