just finished up this custom logo for nadine. she had an existing logo with a hat, but wanted something more her. i found a photo of her in a super cute hat on her blog and designed her two initial concepts (the other hat had a bow). after a couple small tweaks, nadine loved this one best.

I just finished up helping michelle (www.mangomahalo.com) with her new blog, new brand and new photos of her for her "about me" section (isn't she gorgeous)?

me and michelle have been friends for what seems like forever, but has really only been about five years. we met at work (me doing marketing / design and her well, just a pediatric doctor. michelle saw some photos i did for a coworker and came into my office to talk to me about maternity photos. since then, we have laughed together, cried together, and learned together. after falling in love with photography, michelle quit her FT practice, had a 3rd child (a boy who i watched come into this world) and is now a southern california photographer (and an amazing one at that). i bet you all do not know that many photographers with an M.D. after their name :)

i am so proud of michelle and the person she is and has become. she is a great mom, a wonderful wife, a fabulous friend and is doing what she loves. she is the epitome of living your dream and doing what makes you happy, not just what makes you money.

i love color... love love love (did i say love?). when it comes to your brand, you need to pick a color that you not only love, but that is appeasing to your clients.

so, with that said, last week i started posting some of my own favorite color pallets :)

i love roses, i love yellow and yellow roses are my mom's favorites. .

so, todays color palette features yellow (and my ring :)

i love color... love love love (did i say love?). when it comes to your brand, you need to pick a color that you not only love, but that is appeasing to your clients.

did you know that research has found that different colors can provoke varying reactions in people? for instance red evokes passion, is attention grabbing and energetic. shades of blue can put people at ease and says trustworthy & dependable.

so, todays color palette features both those colors... inspired by my girl (miss autumn herself) on the beach:

almost there. i think i am at the point where i will keep this logo. i love my heart element and could not do away with it, so i changed up my font and edited the colors to feel more fresh. my little shoppe is still underway (the extra p and the e make me feel fancy (shoppe vs shop) :) i think i am (so far) good with my welcome page. my friend michelle is insisting we do a photoshoot, but for now, some pics with my boys and swinging miss autumn will do :)
